Southwest Steel Coil occupies a 107,000 sq. ft. high-bay facility located 15 miles west of El Paso, TX, and six miles from a commercial port of entry into Juarez, Mexico. Mill sourcing logistics are optimized by an incoming rail spur into the facility. Principle sourcing is southern U.S. domestic mills, West Coast mills, Mexican mills, and foreign steel through the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and the Port of Houston.
The facility is serviced by 30-ton overhead cranes with an incoming rail spur directly into the facility for off-loading inbound 50,000 lb. mill coils, up to 72” width.
Products include flat-rolled carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and aluminum, included galvanized and pre-painted product in slit coil and cut-to-length sheets and blanks, with gauge ranges of .010-.250”.
Southwest Steel Coil’s sophisticated systems and expertise allows for large-volume contract business with extensive numbers of Kanban-maintained SKUs for 24-hour delivery. High service levels are further maintained through supply chain continuity with long-standing relationships with many steel mills.
